What do you know about the Trenton Channel Power Plant, owned and operated by DTE?

Impending unit closures

DTE Energy will close two of its remaining three units at the Trenton Channel Power Plant on April 15 to meet mercury and air toxic standards established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Since 2014, the announcement that two more units were slated to close at the Trenton facility left residents wondering about the future of the plant. The latest transition will close Units 7 and 8, leaving Unit 9, the largest generating unit at the Trenton Channel. Units 1 through 6 already have been closed.
