| 26 Coast Avenue West (now 17019 West Coast Avenue) has been in the Dorr or Greene family since 1876 when the Reverend Charles E. Dorr signed a 99 year lease for what was originally a tent platform that evolved into the current cottage. Charles was a North Country Methodist minister and a son of George Henry and Lodema Allen Dorr who farmed near Clayton starting about 1870. The current owners - Richard Dorr Greene and Erin Elizabeth Mary McCarthy Greene - live here year around after living in many other communities and concluding that this "is more like home than anyplace else for us." | |
