John White Geary (December 30, 1819 – February 8, 1873) was an American lawyer, politician, Freemason, and a Union general in the American Civil War. He was the final alcalde of San Francisco from 1849 – 1850; the first mayor of San Francisco from 1850 – 1851; a governor of the Kansas Territory from 1856 – 1857; and the 16th governor of Pennsylvania from 1867 – 1873.

He is the namesake of Geary Boulevard in San Francisco.
