Disc Golf is played with a Frisbee-like disc that is thrown into a chain link basket. Each hole's winner is determined by the fewest number of throws (putts) it takes to land the disc into the basket. Scoring is similar to real golf. An 18-hole round typically takes about an hour to play and covers a distance of roughly one mile. A hole can range from about 100 to 400 feet and most are par 3's.
Regular frisbees can be used, although specialized discs can be used for different types of shots.
