Burning Coal Theater Company is located in the renovated Murphy School on Polk Street in downtown Raleigh. Burning Coal is a member of Theatre Communications Group, the national organization of non-profit professional theatres and the North Carolina Theatre Conference, a state-wide consortium of theatres of all sizes and types. In terms of its seating capacity, the Burning Coal theater has 4,000 flexible square feet, 140-175 seat state-of-the-art theatre with balcony on three sides.
