Based in Radford, VA, the New River Valley Regional Commission is a network of local government and universities serving the counties of Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, and Pulaski, and the City of Radford. The Commission is a collaborative effort which coordinates local, state and national resources to address problems surrounding economic and community development, natural resources, housing and transportation.

Getting Involved 

The Commission meets monthly on the fourth Thursday at 6:00pm at the New River Valley Business Center in Fairlawn. All meetings are open to the public. All 12 local governments and participating universities send a representative and communities with more than 3500 also send a citizen representative.

Programs, Projects and Services

The NRVRC completed a  Green Infrastructure Plan : New River Valley Natural & Cultural Resources 

They also manage an extensive G.I.S. (Geographic Information System) online mapping system for a regional food guide and NRV recreation and trails.
