The murder of Alfred "Perry Oaks" is also known as State of Arkansas v. Ida Oaks. Ida was the wife of Perry. She killed Perry in self-defense in 1909 with an ax. Perry repeatedly threatened to kill Ida in the days leading up to the killing, and according to witness statements held a naked Ida at gunpoint before she managed to kill him with the ax. Ida Oaks was found not guilty.
