Artist, photographer, filmmaker, curator Steven Arnold (1943-1994) was born in Oakland and attended Oakland Technical High School (starting in 1958), as did his friend and muse, Pandora.. Their art teacher at Tech, Violet Chew, was a huge source of inspiration and encouragement., "After graduating high school in the Spring of 1961, Arnold won a full scholarship to the San Francisco Art Institute."
