The Oakland Municipal Band will be performing this summer on July 4 and every Sunday in July for their 101st Anniversary season of the Oakland Municipal Band. A city treasure, the Oakland Municipal Band concerts are conducted at the Lake Merritt Bandstand, and are considered one of the country's three best park concert bands. The group performs an eclectic array of music, i.e.; jazz, contemporary, pop, big band, international, classical, and marches and show tunes. The free concerts in the park are by Music Director Troy Davis.

Remember to bring a lawn chair or blanket!

The band was organized in 1912 by conductor Paul Steindorff, who led the band until his death in 1927.
