W.L. Locke House, Oakland, California 1

W.L. Locke House is an Oakland residence built in 1911, which was designed by John Hudson Thomas who was influenced by Viennese Secessionists, a form of European Art Nouveau architecture. The home was commissioned by William Lovering Locke.

On April 3, 1979 the Locke House was designated Oakland Landmark #26, under Zoning Case #LM 79-39, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places #89000258 on April 7, 1989. 2 It was remodeled for law offices between 1984 and 1988 by architects House & House and Elmer-Dinga Construction.3
