Daisy Pauline Schafer
from SF CallDaisy Pauline Schafer (Calhoun) (July, 1879 - March 8, 1906) was a pianist, and the sister of of Paul J. Schafer, postmaster of Oakland.
In 1901, she married Dr. James V. Calhoun and they had two children, James Vernon Calhoun and Thelma Calhoun.

OAKLAND, Oct. 24.— The wedding of Miss Daisy Pauline Schafer and Dr. James V. Calhoun took place yesterday afternoon in the parsonage of the Second Congregational Church at West Oakland. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. W. Phillips, the brother-in-law of the bride and the pastor of the church. The ceremony was simple and was performed in the presence of a few friends of the young couple, after which they left on a short honeymoon.
Miss Schafer Is a daughter of the late A. B. Schafer and a sister of Paul J. Schafer, the Deputy Postmaster of Oakland. She is a great favorite and a most accomplished pianist. The groom is a young physician of San Francisco.
A reception was given this evening by Neil C. Whyte at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. George Hunt in Golden Gate in honor of the return of his son, Malcolm Whyte, from Alaska, after an absence of two and a half years. 1
Daisy died on March 8, 1906, after a short illness. 2
