William M. Wigger was a member of the Saranac Lake Village Trustees from 1960 to 1963.  He was a founding member of the Saranac Lake Flying Club

SARANAC LAKE - William M. Wigger, 82, of 18 Duprey St., Saranac Lake, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 1999 at his home. Born Jan. 11, 1917 in Highview, he was the son of Wingard and Catherine (Brady) Wigger.

He married the former Lena Francati June 9, 1945 in St. Bernard's Church.

He moved to Saranac Lake in 1941 for his health and was employed at Ray Brook State Hospital for 32 years retiring as manager of the storehouse. He was head of the Republican Party, as well the assessor for the town of North Elba.

At the time of his death he was on the North Elba Board of Review. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed rabbit and bird hunting: He held a private pilots license, was a member of the Tuesday Night Gold League, the Mt. Pisgah Ski Patrol, the 4H Club, and the Saranac Lake Go Cart Club.

He is survived by, his wife; three daughters, Catherine and her husband Si Flores of Simsbury Conn., Mary Beth and her husband Walter McClure of Olney, Md., and Marie and her husband John Morgan of Lake Placid; four grandchildren, E.J. Lawless, Keegan, Eliza and Rachael McClure; and a cousin Barbara Cavill of Tolland, Conn.

A mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:15 p.m. Saturday at St. Bernard's Church in Saranac Lake with Rev. Timothy Soucy, the pastor officiating. Interment will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery;

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bernard's Parish or the Tri-Lakes Humane Society in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, 40 Church St. in Saranac Lake.
