Willard L. Utting was the president of the Saranac Lake Fish and Game Club in the 1950s. He lived at 155 River Street. He worked at the Ray Brook Hospital as laundry supervisor.

SARANAC LAKE—Willard Utting, 62, 155 River Street, died yesterday at Saranac Lake General Hospital where he had been a patient for two days.
Mr. Utting was born in Plattsburgh, the son of LeRoy and Mellie Derby Utting. He was married, to the former Velma Moody who survives him here.
Mr. Utting and his wife moved to this community 30 years ago. He was employed at the Ray Brook Hospital as laundry supervisor until his retirement. Mr. Utting was a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge, a Patron of the Eastern Star, past president of the Fish and Game Club and a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
Other survivors include a sister, Mary Handely in Lake Placid; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Utting in Saranac Lake; and four grandchildren. Remains repose, at the Fortune Funeral Home where friends may call tomorrow, 7-9 p.m. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the funeral home. There will, also be a Masonic service, at 8 p.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery.

Dear Sir:
Relative to the discussion of the recently passed dog ordinance may I, one of the five present at the Public Hearing, comment on the statement that this ordinance was "Rammed", through. This is far from the truth as the public Hearing was very well advertised and well conducted in every way. This, from a Republican who thought the meeting and ordinance very well written up by the Democratic controled village board.
Some of our dissenters seemed to have forgotten the several very bad incidences that occurred last Summer to some of our summer visitors, two of whom have written "Letters to the Editor" about our lack of control of the local dog situation.
These letters by out-of-towners, to say nothing of the complaints of the local residents, many of which I imagine are on the Police records if looked up.
I have been approached from all sides the past few days on this situation and as yet have heard no one against the ordinance. I agree it may be a little inconvenient for some but I have a fine little dog who is taken for a walk several times a day on a leash because we ARE dog lovers and believe one who loves a pet should care for it and not let it run at large as the SIX dogs that I can see from my window as I write this.
This ordinance may inconvenience a FEW but I believe, in the Jong run it will be to everyone's satisfaction that we will have a better more thought- of village for it. Thank you.
