DANBURY, Conn. - Roderick B. Swenson, 71, of Ridgefield, Conn., and Upper Saranac Lake, New York, died Thursday April 5 at the Danbury Hospital after an extended illness.

He was the grandson of Eric P. Swenson who built the last of the great camps, "Indian Carry," on the lake in 1939, He was former vice president of Citibank in New York City and a director of the Swen R. Swenson Land and Cattle Company of Stamford, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, the former Hope Hollister, two sons, Roderick Swenson Jr. of New York City and Winthrop Swenson of Takoma Park, Md.; one daughter, Laura H. Swenson of Ridgefield, Conn.; two brothers, Bruce Swenson of Dallas, Tex. and Randolph Swenson of Key Largo, Fla. Three grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services and burial were private.
