Saranac Lake – The funeral service for James Edward Callaghan, 56, who died Tuesday in Oakland, Calif., will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Keough and Son Memorial Chapels. Friends may call there from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 on Friday. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery.
Mr. Callaghan was born in Saranac Lake, a son of Vincent and Alice Cassavaugh Callaghan. He was in the Air Force in World War II and had been employed by the Prudential Insurance Co. in Saranac Lake.
Survivors are: his wife, the former Gertrude Darling; a daughter, Mrs. Paul Gedroiz of Sparta, N.J.; two sons, James Leonard and Jules W. of Saranac Lake; his father; six brothers, Francis of Tupper Lake, Lawrence of Poughkeepsie; Walter of Orlando, Fla., Robert of Los Angeles; and Michael and Bernard of Saranac Lake; and three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Santor of Plattsburgh; Mrs. Mary Griffin of Jamesville, and Mrs. Helen Martin of Saranac Lake
