Henry A. Mussen, 65, of 212 Broadway, Saranac Lake, a life-long resident of the village, died at 6:30 this morning at Saranac Lake General Hospital where he had been a patient for just a few hours.
Mr. Mussen was born May 7, 1898 in Saranac Lake, son of Herbert and Marion Clark Mussen. On Nov. 25, 1926 he was married to Violet Gravell, who survives. He had been a mail carrier and mail clerk at the Saranac Lake Post Office and retired after 36 years of service.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a sister, Miss Bertha Mussen of Saranac Lake; an aunt, Mrs. Jennie Smith of Saranac Lake; and a niece, Mrs. Lillian McGarr of Kittery, Me., who lived with the Mussens for many years.
Friends may call at the Fortune Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday. Dr. Lionel R. Driscoll pastor of the Saranac Lake Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in May in Pine Ridge Cemetery.
