George H. Rottner

SARANAC LAKE — George H. Rottner, 58, of Vermontville passed away Thursday afternoon at the General Hospital of Saranac Lake.

He was born in New York City March 11, 1919. a son of Henry and Louise (Hattig) Rottner.

Mr. Rottner lived in the area since 1939.

He was a plumber and steamfitter, and retired in 1971 from Latour Fuel Co. in Saranac Lake.

Mr. Rottner was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, the former Ellen Carey; four sons, Robert of Paul Smiths, Lt. Henry of Virginia, Shaun of Galveston, Tex., and Eric of Bloomingdale; two daughters, Mrs. Rosemary Primo of Birmingham, Ala., and Mrs. Diane LaFlame of Tupper Lake; three grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Fortune Funeral Home at 7 to 9p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. A Bible vigil will be said at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mass of the Resurrection will be said at 11:15 Monday at St. Bernard's Church with the Rev. C.J. McAvoy officiating.

Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
