Baker Chapel window in memory of
Frances Lake Thacher's daughter,
whose name was also Frances Lake Thacher
Born: August 14, 1872

DiedJanuary 31, 1962

Married:  John Seymour Thacher (June 10, 1856-October 28, 1922)

Children: John Seymour Thacher Jr. (1904-1982)

It appears that the Frances Lake Thacher whose page this is may have had a daughter by the same name who was born June 18, 1908 and died May 31, 1917. Her early death might explain the child in the window design.

Frances E. Lake Thacher was the daughter of George Graham Lake and Frances Emma Baker

Her mother built Baker Chapel at Trudeau Sanatorium, including its three original stained glass windows near the altar, in 1896. Mrs. Baker's daughter, Frances Lake Thacher (widow of John Seymour Thacher), added the large east window in 1924, in memory of (left to right) a daughter, her mother and her husband, all deceased.
