The long west line of this property is bounded by railroad tracks near the Union Depot — the perfect place for a railroad enthusiast to live. The house was the home of Fred Baker, a musician himself, band teacher at Saranac Lake High School, and a volunteer conductor on the Adirondack Scenic Railroad who had qualified for that responsibility not long before his death.

The back of the Morgan House, at 28 Bloomingdale Avenue, is seen on the right side of both the historic views from Carey Cottage on this page.
