How it Works

Conway Locally Grown is a virtual farmer's market providing products from small local (inside AR) farmers and producers.  Orders are placed Sunday Night - Tuesday Night on the website and picked up each Friday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church at 925 Mitchell in Conway.

What it Means

Conway Locally Grown means that producers know how much they have sold and have more ability to plan the sale of their production and minimize waste. It also offers producers the ability to drop off their goods in multiple markets where they will be distributed by volunteers, as opposed to the traditional farmer's market model which requires the producer to be present in order to sell their items.  Many of the farmers who sell on Conway Locally Grown also sell their goods through the Little Rock Locally Grown hosted by the Arkansas Sustainability Network.

A portion of membership fees is donated to the St. Peter's Food Pantry, and the market often contributes extra produce.  Members of CLG have the option to add a donation to their purchases and have kindly given to the Food Pantry.

Community members may contribute, in the same form as to St Pete's, to the community fund.  Producers, organizations and individuals are able to apply for the community fund, usually around $500/project, and members vote to determine which project will receive the fund.  Generally several awards are given per year.

The organization has benefited producers and consumers a like in the Conway area and around Arkansas.  The energy of that mutually beneficial relationship is often felt at the Harvest Dinners organized by CLG.
