Issues of Focus

"Our policy is to serve anyone who is hungry with no questions asked. We seek to provide a safe haven for our guests, who include women, men, children, families, and seniors." (2015, Manna Meal. Inc). With the assistance of contributions and donations from the community members, Manna Meal Inc. relies solely on the influence of Charleston citizens which includes a broad range of interests, from the corporate workers of the area to the various religious communities located throughout the region. This network creating strategy is marginally influential to the upcoming revolution toward locality in America and should be looked upon as a prime example of creating a tighter economically beneficial network in any area.

History of Organization

Manna Meal was founded in 1976 as an independent non-profit organization that turn in-kind food donations from the community, as well as their own fresh produce, into fresh meals for the citizens of Charleston, no questions asked. For the past 39 years the organization has reached out to approximately 2.6 million meals served. That equals out to about 450 people receiving 2 meals a day!!
