Here is a fun chance to ride a train with the track over your head!  The suspension monorail is part of the regional transport system VRR  operated by  Wuppertaler Stadtwerke (WSW), and tickets can be bought at any of the stations.  There are also combi tickets for the Wuppertal Zoo.  The English brochure  explains the route in detail.

For a more unique experience, try booking one of the special trips in the Kaiserwagen. Trips in the emperor’s carriage, a railway  carriage dating from the 1900 series, start at the station Vohwinkel, and include guides dressed in period costumes, a drink and a complete round trip. Trips should be booked through the tourist office, Wuppertal Touristik, at the number given above.
