If you are a newcomer to Boise from another region of the country and are perplexed as to why gas prices seem to be the same everywhere throughout the city (or why they often remain stagnant—even for several months straight, as from August to December of 2010 when they stayed at a steady $2.99, never changing once...), the reason is that most of the gas stations in Boise are owned by Jackson's, and thus competition is limited.
