Joe McCauley was a local artist who for years taught art at Heartland Community College, or rather he was the art department at Heartland. He was famous for his beret, his camouflage shorts, and his wild gray beard. He was also active in his local union. He was killed in 2009, under tragic circumstances.

Heartland is currently raising funds to start the McCauley Scholarship. If interested in contributing to the scholarship or buying merchandise featuring Joe's art, please contact Jane Camp at (309) 268-8620.
