Biography
Ralph was born and raised in Attica and graduated from Attica High School.
Ralph was in the Army during World War II and served as a master sergeant with the 8th Field Artillery. During his service he saw action in France, Belgium, and Germany.
On June 6, 1944, Ralph fought in the D-Day invasion where he successfully got all his 28 trucks he was responsible for onto Utah Beach. He also fought at the Battle of the Bulge.
Ralph would later serve in the Army during the Korean War.
1947 Ralph became a deacon at the first Baptist Church
Ralph was also a past president and member of the Attica Central School Board of Education, and a past member of the Board of Cooperative Educational Services School Board.
Mr. Dunbar also served as a corrections sergeant at Attica Correctional Facility until he retired in 1980.
Ralph was also an accomplished mechanic , farmer, and school bus driver.
Ralph died in the United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia after a brief illness at the age of 86. He is buried in Forest Hill Cemetery.
