Overnight parking Policy issues come up regularly on the Arlington list, and I suspect there is no solution that will be accepted by all of us, partly because there is no solution that would actually suit the interests of all of us. It’s an interesting situation, because it is so strongly affected by many issues: various income levels, homeowners vs. renters, differing neighborhoods, long-term residents vs. newbies, all sorts of stuff.

I think it would be great if this web page would list a lot of the factual information about the situation, and also fairly summarize the arguments (and counter-arguments) on both sides, in what Wikipedia calls a “neutral point of view” aka NPOV  (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Neutral_point_of_view )

This might be of use to someone who had never put much thought into the situation and is trying to make up their mind. I assume anyone who currently has a strong opinion would keep it no matter they read on this page. But still, it would be valuable to have the standard arguments and counter-arguments listed (in a NPOV), so that we don’t need to constantly rehash the same stuff. Maybe this would encourage some creative thinking – people after looking at this page could say, “here’s a new idea about the debate that has not already been considered” and then that would be newsworthy!
