Stony Point, New York
Stony Point is a small town in Rockland County, New York, located within the United States. The population is about fifteen thousand. The name of the town is derived from the well-known, Hudson River. The town is located north of of Haverstraw, east and south of Orange County, New York, and west of the Hudson River and Westchester County. Serving a total population of 15,377 (2018). It is approximately 30 mi (48 km) north of New York City.
The town is famous for a battle that occurred on July 16th, 1779.
It is the site of the Stony Point Battle Field, State Historic Site.
